eTwinning-Project: Underrated Women: Charlotte Garrigue Masaryk – A Life Beyond Borders

Authors: Ella & Attia (Germany), Enzo (France), Miruna (Romania), Iremnaz (Türkiye)

In this video, our students present the life and legacy of Charlotte Garrigue Masaryk, a remarkable figure in Czech history and the wife of Tomáš G. Masaryk, the first president of Czechoslovakia.
The presentation sheds light on her American roots, her influence as an intellectual partner in the founding of a democratic state, and her enduring role as a symbol of cross-cultural understanding. This student-produced video is part of a broader project on historical female figures in European democracy.
We invite you to watch and reflect on the story of a woman whose impact reached far beyond her time.

More Than Just an Exchange – A Journey to the Heart of Portugal

Avsin Ertekin from Germany

"I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but I was ready for anything. And Ovar, Portugal, captivated me from the very first moment. I didn’t just experience breathtaking landscapes and fantastic food – above all, I came to appreciate the warmth and calmness of the people. Their relaxed way of life left a deep impression on me; stress seemed like a foreign concept there. I learned a great deal about the culture, the language, and myself. This time was short but intense, and I would do anything to experience it again and to see my host family once more.

The Portugal Exchange was one of the best experiences we´ve ever had. We were welcomed with open arms and quickly became part of the families we stayed with. Now I have a second family and home on the other side of Europe. It´s amazing how just two weeks can create such strong bonds and unforgettable memories.

Article 4 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights declares:
"No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms." This article protects the fundamental right of every person to live in freedom and dignity, free from any form of slavery, forced labor, or human trafficking.
Although slavery is officially banned worldwide, modern forms of exploitation still exist—including child labor, forced work, and trafficking of human beings. As part of our Erasmus+ project "Youth for Human Rights", students from Germany, Croatia, Portugal, Slovakia, Greece, and Turkey worked together to explore the meaning and relevance of this human right today.
Through research, creative collaboration, and international dialogue, they examined how modern slavery affects people globally, and why it is important for young people to raise awareness and promote human dignity. This video presents their reflections and aims to encourage action against exploitation in all its forms.
