Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that "Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of themselves and of their family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services."
This article emphasizes the right of every person to live with dignity, free from poverty, hunger, and insecurity, ensuring access to basic needs and support in times of hardship. As part of our Erasmus+ project "Youth for Human Rights", students from Germany, Croatia, Portugal, Slovakia, Greece, and Turkey worked together to explore this crucial human right. Through research, creative work, and dialogue, they reflected on what an adequate standard of living means in different contexts and why it is essential that young people raise awareness about social justice and equality across Europe and beyond.
